As part of its commitment to supporting the energy transition, Bukit Asam partnered with PT Angkasa Pura II to build a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The facility comprises 720 photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 241 kWp, supplying clean and sustainable energy to support AOCC operations. The plant has been in operation since October 1, 2020.

Bukit Asam, in collaboration with PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, developed a 400 kWp Solar Power Plant along the Bali Mandara Toll Road. The plant powers street lighting, operational offices, and toll gates using renewable energy. Officially operational since September 2022, the project also supported the G20 Summit held in Bali.

Through its subsidiary PT Bukit Energi Investama (PT BEI), Bukit Asam operates a 303.1 kWp Solar Power Plant at the Cilegon Industrial Area, supplying electricity to PT Timah Industri. Developed under a 25-year Power Rental scheme followed by BOOT, the off-grid system integrates with the area's PLTGU network, ensuring reliable power supply. The plant began operations in June 2025.

Bukit Asam has built a Wood Pellet Pilot Plant using Red Calliandra plants in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, which was officially launched on October 24, 2024. This project is part of the company's renewable energy program and a continuation of the Red Calliandra cultivation for biomass that began in 2023.
The wood pellets produced are used as cofiring material (a mixture) with coal at Steam Power Plants (PLTU), aiming to reduce carbon emissions in the energy and mining sectors. Currently, the Pilot Plant has a production capacity of 200 kg per hour.
This initiative is a collaboration between Bukit Asam and Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) Veteran Yogyakarta, and serves as a concrete step by the company in supporting the energy transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.
