PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) has achieved Gold Proper (Program Penilaian Peringkat Kinerja Perusahaan or Corporate Performance Rating Program) for the fourth time since 2013.

Proper Gold is the highest award in the field of environment issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. PTBA become the only mining company that won the Gold Proper.

The award was presented by Vice President Jusuf Kalla to PTBA President Director Ir. Arviyan Arifin, and witnessed by the Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar, on December 7, 2016, at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

A total of 12 companies that received the gold rankings are the result of the selection of the 1930 companies that are included in the category of national votes. In addition to the gold rank, rank below, in order, are green, blue, red, and black.

Property valuation includes the performance of companies in environmental management, such as energy efficiency, water conservation, emission reduction, protection of biodiversity, 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and reduce social inequality through the implementation of community development programs.
 PTBA receive Gold Proper since 2013 because it is considered as a company that has been carrying out its obligations in environmental management in excess of regulations issued by the government.

In the energy sector, Bukit Asam efficiency by using waste coal to fuel a power plant 3x10 MW Tanjung Enim to self-sufficiency. E-Certification seed crop plant species of eucalyptus, falcata, and mahogany are suitable as plant reforestation on mined land. PTBA also have fueled power plants from oil palm waste and will develop palm oil to biomass fuel.
