SHE Agents, Supervisor in Mining Zone
BUKIT ASAM has a number of agents in charge of supervising mining activities. They are the SHE Agents. As extensions of the Bukit Asam KPK3L work unit, their duties are very important, particularly with regard to occupational safety and health in the mining zone.
SHE Agent’s competencies include basic safety, HSE inspection techniques, hazard reporting procedures, and safety talk/safety meetings. With these competencies, SHE Agents are expected to be examples or role models for their colleagues. They also have a role to be a catalyst and mediator in their work area to accelerate changes in the HSE culture in Bukit Asam.
Duties and responsibilities of SHE agents, among others, are as follows:
· Workplace Inspection
· Sweeping Golden Rules
· Hazard Reporting
· Safety Talk
Bukit Asam received the Safety Culture Award (WISCA) in the silver category, meaning the HSE culture at PTBA is rated at level 4 (proactive) out of 5 maximum levels. This means that there is still opportunity to grow and reach the highest level of culture (resilient). Level 5 can be achieved if all employees have HSE culture. Therefore, Bukit Asam needs SHE Agents as agents of change who can convey messages of change and are able to become leading leaders and role models for the company to achieve a resilient HSE culture.
