Bukit Asam (PTBA) Empowering the Embawang Village Community with Honey Bee Cultivation
PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) supports the honey bee cultivation to improve community welfare in Embawang Village, Tanjung Agung District, Muara Enim.
The company handed out a total of eight apiaries (boxes used for bee housing) for Trigona Terminata and Trigona Itama types of honey bees to the community for cultivation. The people worked together to prepare the media and land for honey bees cultivation on Thursday, June 20, 2024, which included everything from clearing the land to constructing apiary support poles.
"We strongly support this activity because honey bee cultivation offers both economic and environmental preservation potential," said PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Assistant Manager for Sustainability Planning & Documentation, Rio Handoko.
The honey bee cultivation team from Prabumulih was present to guide and provide technical support to the community during this process. It is hoped that their guidance will help the people of Embawang Village cultivating the honey bees more effectively and sustainably.
This program aims to not only improve the welfare of Embawang Village, but also set an example for other communities looking to develop their local potential in a sustainable manner.
