Together Fighting Covid-19

BUKIT ASAM conducted socialization about Covid-19 prevention to vendors and contractors.
There were 91 participants from Bukit Asam’s vendors and contractors attended the socialization of Covid-19 control and prevention in the Lawang Kidul District Environment, located at the Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim Sports Building on June 27, 2021. Bukit Asam Operations Services Senior Manager Samiaji Nugroho in the opening remarks said that this socialization to vendors and contractors was Bukit Asam and the Government’s effort to prevent and suppress the spread of Covid-19.
“As the new Covid-19 variant, which is apparently very dangerous and deadly, emerge, it is our duty to make efforts to control and prevent the Covid-19 to spread even more. Various efforts have been made by the Central and Regional Government to companies that have formed the Covid-19 Task Force Team and this must be supported by the community. With this socialization, the participants can get more knowledge about Covid-19 prevention and hopefully will reduce new Covid-19 cases in our area, especially in Lawang Kidul District," he said.
Also present on this occasion were Head of Lawang Kidul Sub-district Andrille Martin, Lawang Kidul Police Chief Iptu Marwan S.H., Tanjung Enim Danramil Captain Inf. Fiber Irwanda, Head of Bukit Asam Medika Hospital dr. Bandriyo Sudarsono and representative of Tanjung Enim Health Center Nurhasanah Sinaga.
The Head of Lawang Kidul Sub-district said that with the involvement of the community and the work environment, each person could take part in preventing the spread of Covid-19. The Lawang Kidul District Government for example, had been collecting residents’ data for vaccination and urging people to reduce mobility, avoid crowds and wash hands with soap and running water. “We need everybody’s help in preventing Covid-19. Let's fight together, in the society and in the work place. Also, don't be afraid to get vaccinated. I've been vaccinated twice. The Covid-19 vaccine is safe and halal," he said.
The police chief added that as of May 26, 2021, in Lawang Kidul District there were 769 people infected with Covid-19, of which 690 people recovered, 30 people died and 49 people were still being treated. Most infected areas were in South Tanjung Enim Village, Tanjung Enim Village, Tegal Rejo Village, and Keban Agung Village. “The challenge is that business travel is still going on and it cannot be stopped. I recommend to just postpone any non-essential activities in the meantime,” added Danramil.
The Lawang Kidul Health Center represented by Nurhasanah Sinaga urged the public to be more vigilant because the Covid-19 virus could now be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the eyes. “Not 3M anymore but 5M that we must do now. Every one of us has a role in our respective functions," she said. Meanwhile, Pevi Hernisa, Bukit Asam vendor from PT EPP Darmo Bersaudara, felt that there were benefits from the socialization that he participated in. “I gain more knowledge about Covid-19 in this socialization and as it is confirmed that the Covid-19 vaccine is safe, at least I am not afraid to be vaccinated against Covid-19," he said.
