PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) continues to fulfill the community desire to have comfortable, livable houses and clean water. Located in Karang Asam, Tanjung Enim Selatan Subdistrict, Lawang Kidul District, Muara Enim Regency, on Wednesday (October 21, 2020), PTBA symbolically provided house renovation assistance and the construction of bore wells for the community living in the company's first ring.

In this simple and solemn moment, assistance for house renovation and bore wells was handed over by the PTBA CSR Senior Manager represented by the Assistant Manager PTBA CSR Planning and Documentation, Syamsuir. This symbolic ceremony was also witnessed by Representatives of Tripika Elements of Lawang Kidul District and Community Figures.

In his remarks, Syamsuir said that assistance for the clean water facilities (bore wells) and house renovations by PTBA CSR was given to 25 villages or subdistricts in the company's ring 1 area; with a total value of IDR1,075,000,000 for 25 housing units to be renovated and 23 bore well points to be built.

"This program is a series of activities from PTBA's 39th Anniversary in 2020. The program for clean water facilities and livable houses is carried out in 25 villages or subdistricts located in ring 1 of the company. Of course, all beneficiaries have gone through the administrative and survey processes, so this assistance is right on target,” said Syamsuir. "Hopefully the house renovation assistance and the construction of bore wells from PTBA can be beneficial for the community for the long term," said Syamsuir again.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tanjung Enim Selatan Urban Village, Abdul Halim, on behalf of the community, expressed his gratitude for the contribution of PTBA's assistance. The house renovations and bore wells were really essential for the community.

"Once again, we would like to express our gratitude for PTBA's care. We feel that the IDR20 million worth of house renovation and the construction of a bore well with a value of IDR25 million have been of great help to the community. Hopefully the assistance provided can be useful to the people around the company, especially that of Tanjung Enim Selatan Village," said Abdul Halim.

One of PTBA's house renovation beneficiaies, Ngatno was never stopped being grateful for what he got from PTBA's assistance. "Alhamdulillah – Praise to God, after receiving assistance from PTBA's CSR, now my house is much more liveable. Before, when it was raining, the house leaked and our family was wet," said Ngatno.
