PTBA Corporate Secretary Niko Chandra said the dividend distribution is part of the company's commitment to delivering sustainable added value to shareholders.
"This dividend distribution also represents our appreciation for the continued trust of our shareholders. At the same time, it reflects PTBA's resilient performance amid pressure in the global coal industry," said Niko.
Throughout 2024, coal prices experienced a sharp correction. The average ICI-3 price index fell 12 percent to USD 74.19 per ton from USD 84.76 per ton in 2023. Meanwhile, the Newcastle coal price dropped 22 percent to USD 134.85 per ton from USD 172.79 per ton in 2023.
Despite the price pressures, PTBA recorded revenues of IDR 42.76 trillion and net profit of IDR 5.10 trillion in 2024. Coal sales volume increased 16 percent (year-on-year) to 42.89 million tons, with export sales growing 30 percent to 20.26 million tons, and domestic sales increasing 6 percent to 22.64 million tons. PTBA's market mix also became more balanced, with domestic sales accounting for 53 percent and exports for 47 percent.
As of December 31, 2024, the company's total assets stood at IDR 41.79 trillion, an increase of 8 percent compared to the previous year.
"We are grateful that the company's performance for the 2024 fiscal year remained solid despite price challenges and global market fluctuations. This supports our efforts to deliver greater added value for the national mining industry," Niko concluded.
