"We want to start by congratulating each and every one of you. Thank God, alhamdulillah, you have made it to this point after going through a long series of tests. This is a truly remarkable accomplishment. I hope that all of you with an unwavering spirit will be able to reach your dreams. You are part of Bidiksiba, you are also part of Bukit Asam. We hope that you can make Bukit Asam and Bidiksiba proud," said Assistant Manager of Sustainability Planning & Doc PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), Rio Handoko.
Nadila Devani Alensi, a Bidiksiba participant who was accepted into D3 Business Administration Polsri, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to further her education through the Bidiksiba Program.
Coming from Karang Asem Village in Muara Enim, she would seize the opportunity to broaden her knowledge, insight, and experience. "The Bidiksiba program is ideal for those of us who face financial constraints in continuing our studies. I hope that after graduation, I would be successful and valuable to the nation and country, as well as Bukit Asam. I would want to convey my gratitude to Bukit Asam for helping us with the Bidiksiba scholarship," she said.
PTBA is committed to supporting quality, inclusive, and equitable education for the community. The Bidiksiba program is one of PTBA's efforts to achieve this.
The Bidiksiba program aims to provide opportunities for high school graduates or equivalent from underprivileged families around the company to pursue further education (Diploma Three or D-III).
Between 2013 and 2023, 345 youths from the company's neighborhood have benefited from this scholarship. 102 of them are students and 243 are alumni who are now employed in different business fields.
For 2024 Bidiksiba Program, PTBA collaborates with Sriwijaya State Polytechnic, Malang State Polytechnic, and Lampung State Polytechnic.
