Bukit Asam (PTBA) and the Community Collaborate to Clean River in Sidodadi

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Tarahan Port Unit, together with residents of Hamlet 04 in Sidodadi Village, Lampung, collaborated to clean the river. This initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, particularly in rivers.
The activity was organized by PTBA in collaboration with the Sidodadi Village Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). The river cleanup also involved students from the Community Service Program (KKN) at the University of Lampung (Unila), Darmajaya Informatics and Business Institute, Mitra Bentala, village officials, and various other stakeholders.
"Through this activity, we aim to emphasize the importance of community participation in maintaining cleanliness, especially in rivers, which are vital to our lives. In the future, we hope this awareness can be extended to other hamlets. By doing so, we can address waste and flooding issues while promoting environmentally friendly village tourism that harnesses natural resources," said Andi Sofiyan, Head of the Pokdarwis Sidodadi Village.
Hamlet 04 in Sidodadi Village is located upstream of the river, near the Cuku NyiNyi Mangrove Ecotourism Area. In addition to preventing flooding, maintaining the cleanliness of the river will help support the development of ecotourism.
For the development of ecotourism, PTBA Tarahan Port Unit, in collaboration with the Bina Jaya Lestari Forest Farmer Group (KTH), has planted 40,000 mangrove seedlings across 13.21 hectares in the Cuku NyiNyi Mangrove Ecotourism Area. Additionally, 500 coral reef seedlings have been transplanted in a 1.03-hectare conservation area, and 850 seagrass seedlings have been planted over 8.98 hectares.
PTBA Tarahan Port Unit also supports the development of the agricultural sector in Dusun 03, Sidodadi Village, through the Dari Hati Berdaya Mandiri Hasil Tani program. This initiative encourages the use of bamboo vinegar as both a fertilizer and pest repellent to help increase farmers' income.
Bamboo vinegar also helps accelerate harvest times. The program was launched in September 2024, and as a result, the Sidodadi Village Farmers Group was able to harvest shallots in January 2025.
