Bukit Asam (PTBA) Together with Three SOEs, Realizes a Christmas Full of Love in South Sumatra
Palembang, January 13, 2025 - In celebration of Christmas, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) together with PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), PT Hutama Karya (Persero), and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri) have donated to two orphanages in South Sumatra. This initiative involved teams from each company as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental Program.
The donation was handed over through the Provincial SCJ, Palembang, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. The assistance included 2.46 tons of rice, 460 kg of sugar, and 460 liters of cooking oil, valued at IDR 50 million.
The aid will be distributed to the Santa Maria Orphanage, which cares for around 60 orphaned children in Banyuasin, and the Santo Yusuf Orphanage, which looks after approximately 50 orphaned children in Baturaja.
Bambang Dwi Setiawan, Chairperson of the Christmas Together Committee for the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in the Palembang Region, expressed his hope that the Ministry of SOEs and SOEs could share joy and spread benefits to the community through this Christmas celebration.
"This donation is a manifestation of our concern and love for those in need. We hope it will be beneficial and bring joy," said Bambang.
Romo Andreas Suparman SCJ, Chairman of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Priests Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of SOEs, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), PT Hutama Karya (Persero), and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri) for their care for the orphaned children.
"This is an extraordinary act of kindness, a sign of attention for the children in the orphanages. We hope this brings joy to them as they are loved by others," said Romo Andreas.
He also shared his hope that the Christmas spirit would encourage more people to spread benefits to others.
"My hope is that, during this Christmas celebration, more people will show their love for others through their actions in their respective fields," he concluded.
This donation is part of the series of events for the Christmas Together celebration by the Ministry of SOEs in the Palembang Region. The peak of the Christmas Together celebration will be held in Palembang on January 20, 2025.
