Bukit Asam (PTBA) Provides Free Eye Examinations for Elementary School Students
PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) organized an Eyes Clinic program for elementary school students in Lawang Kidul District, Muara Enim. Twenty-three students were examined further at the Bukit Asam Medika Hospital (RS BAM) Eye Clinic on August 7-8, 2024.
They first underwent an initial examination, which included an eye virus test and a health consultation. The follow-up examination concluded with recommendations for eye glasses.
The Eyes Clinic program aims to increase awareness of eye health and facilitate the learning process for elementary school students.
VP Sustainability PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Hartono said that this program demonstrated the company's commitment to public health and education, particularly for students around the company's area. "We hope that this Eyes Clinic program will improve the quality of life of students and help them in the learning process," he said.
"This Eyes Clinic program is excellent. I am really appreciative to Bukit Asam for offering this program for free. I wish Bukit Asam continues to be successful and prosperous," Efi Ariyanti, a parent of one of the students expressed her gratitude to the Eyes Clinic program.
Apart from the Eyes Clinic, PTBA has implemented several initiatives aimed at enhancing public health. One of these is the Additional Food Provision (PMT) program, which gives mothers and children from low-income households in the company's Ring 1 area extra nourishment in the form of milk each month. PMT has benefited 1,704 underprivileged families in total.
PTBA is also collaborating with BAM Hospital to operate the Mobile Health Car (Mokesling) which provides free health services to the community around the company's Ring 1 area. This service includes medical examinations and the distribution of medicines. To date, the program has served over 12,589 people.
