Bukit Asam (PTBA) Received the Outstanding Community Development Campaign Award

PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) received the Outstanding Community Development Campaign award at the 2024 CNN Indonesia Awards, which took place in Palembang on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
PTBA received this award for its sustainability program, Eco Agrotomation, which was considered to have a positive impact on community empowerment.
"We are very grateful for the award. For us, this acknowledgement is certainly a source of pride and strengthens our enthusiasm to continue making contributions to society," said Corporate Secretary of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), Niko Chandra.
Eco Agrotomation is PTBA's social innovation that encourages environmentally friendly, automation-based plant cultivation to support greening and reclamation programs in PTBA areas as well as other companies.
In this program, PTBA empowers farmers to carry out the plant nursery activities by utilizing an automation system. The farmers may more easily monitor and manage their crops using this automation system, which includes a monitoring dashboard. This automation system is powered by renewable energy, specifically solar power plants.
The plant seeds produced are then collected by PTBA for reclamation purposes. PTBA is not the only company collaborating with the farmers, there are several other companies too. The Eco Agrotomation program has helped the community's economy grow while also ensuring environmental sustainability.
"Align with PTBA's vision of becoming a world-class energy company that cares about the environment, we remain committed to actively contribute to economic development, community welfare, and environmental preservation. We will continue to strengthen the implementation of ESG principles to make the company's performance more solid," emphasized Niko.
The 2024 CNN Indonesia Awards’s theme was "From the Earth of Sriwijaya, Crafting the Future of the Archipelago". Chairman and founder of CT Corp Chairul Tanjung, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rachmad Wibowo, Sriwijaya Military Commander Major General Naudi Nurdika, and other stakeholders were also present in this event.
