Bukit Asam (PTBA) Receives Two Prasetya Ahimsa Awards from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources

Bandung, October 29, 2024 - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), specifically its Tarahan Port Unit and Kertapati Dock Unit, received the Prasetya Ahimsa Award from the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) in Bandung on Friday, October 25, 2024.
This award is conferred to business entities in the mineral and coal sector that are recognized for their excellence and adherence to mining safety regulations during the 2023 assessment period.
"We congratulate the business entities that have received the Prasetya Ahimsa award. This recognition signifies that safety standards must be continually elevated, and we hope this award will not only be a source of pride but also serve as motivation for all of us to improve further," stated Tri Winarno, Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources.
According to Tri, the implementation of mining safety standards in every operational aspect of mining must not only comply with legal requirements but also consider sustainable investment in safety infrastructure, competency training, and full support for the Chief Mining Engineer.
"The conduct of safe and secure mining operations is not an option but a necessity," emphasized Tri.
The term "Prasetya" means promise, while "Ahimsa" means non-violence. Thus, philosophically, Prasetya Ahimsa embodies the promise or full commitment of a company to adhere to legal regulations, establish and implement mining safety programs, and ensure safe operations that protect the health and safety of workers.
Suhedi, Director of Operations & Production at PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), expressed gratitude for the Prasetya Ahimsa award granted by the Ministry of ESDM. He reaffirmed PTBA's commitment to consistently implementing Good Mining Practice, including upholding Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
"The application of a robust OHS culture allows Bukit Asam's mining activities to proceed effectively, efficiently, and safely. This appreciation motivates us to continue strengthening our OHS culture to provide non-stop energy that benefits the community," said Suhedi.
