Bukit Asam (PTBA) Organizes Maggot Cultivation Training to Create Business Opportunities

PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) organized a Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation training in Tanjung Agung Village, Muara Enim Regency on Friday, July 19, 2024.
The training, which included 25 participants in total, aimed to provide practical knowledge and skills about the benefits and techniques of cultivating BSF maggots.
BSF maggots have many benefits, including for animal feed and helping in the decomposition or destruction of organic waste.
Feeding fish and poultry using BSF maggots has numerous advantages, including improved feed quality, reduced environmental impact, and cost and time efficiency.
"This maggot cultivation training is one of our community-wide projects to support environmental and economic sustainability. Using BSF maggots not only reduces the pile of organic waste, but also provides a source of high-quality feed for fish and poultry. We hope that this training will have a positive impact on community welfare," said VP Sustainability PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), Hartono.
Putra, one of the training participants, stated that he only heard about the benefits of BSF maggots through this activity. He wants to use this experience to start an alternative business while also helping to improve the environment.
" I hope to implement what I've learned today to start a maggot cultivation business in our village," he said.
