Two Bukit Asam (PTBA) Subsidiaries Synergize in Carbon Trading

PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP) and PT Bukit Pembangkit Innovative (BPI), two subsidiaries of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) engaging in steam power generation, have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Priority Commitments in Carbon Trading.
Anita Parma, Commercial Director of PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP), and Wibisono, President Director of PT Bukit Pembangkit Innovative (BPI), signed the MoU in Jakarta on Thursday, September 12, 2024, witnessed by Arsal Ismail, President Director of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), PTBA Board of Directors, the Ministry of SOEs team, and the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding Portfolio Management team.
This agreement is a strategic step that reflects PTBA's commitment to supporting the goals of MIND ID and the Ministry of SOEs, as well as advancing synergy across PTBA’s subsidiaries and affiliates.
"The signing of this MoU demonstrates PTBA's commitment to support sustainable and responsible growth. We believe that through synergy and compliance with carbon trading regulations, PTBA along with its entities will play an increasingly active role in supporting improved environmental management," said Arsal.
Arsal hopes that the synergy between HBAP and BPI would improve carbon management across all business lines for PTBA's subsidiaries and affiliates.
Furthermore, he stated that this MoU underlines PTBA and its entities’ resolve to comply with carbon trading legislation in place in Indonesia. This is a significant step towards supporting the government's initiative to reduce carbon emissions and improve carbon management in business processes.
"This step confirms PTBA’s commitment to supporting the national sustainability agenda while preserving economic growth in accordance with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles," he said.
