Bukit Asam Organizes Academic Competitions and Speech Competition to Enhance Students’ Academic Skills

Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) organized Academic Competitions for Elementary, Junior High, Senior High, and Vocational School students at the Batu Bara Museum on February 5-7, 2024.
This year, PTBA also held Speech Competitions to encourage students' creativity and English skills. This tournament was one among several events commemorating the PTBA's 43rd anniversary.
This series of competitions was open to all students from PTBA operational area, with 320 participants in total. The Academic Quiz Game had 42 elementary schools, 23 middle schools, and 21 high schools organized into teams. The Speech Competition involved 51 high school students, 43 middle school students, and 37 high school students.
According to Venpri Sagara, General Manager of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Tanjung Enim Mining Unit, this competition allows students to examine their skills and grow into young visionaries who benefit from the energy, enthusiasm, and ideas developed.
"Hopefully students will learn a lot from this competition. It's not only about winning, but how well the students understand their own skills," he said.
Meanwhile, the winner of the Speech Competition, Jollyn Audrey Lee from Santo Yosef Lahat High School, felt fortunate to have been able to obtain useful experience from this competition.
"Thanks to PTBA, we may bring our opinions and present them in speeches regarding how we see energy in the future," she said.
PTBA chose this theme to carry the spirit of "Pioneering The Future", to be at the forefront in creating positive changes and innovations that have long-term impacts, especially in the energy sector.
Meanwhile, the participants of the Academic Competition hoped that it would be held again the following year. "We really hope that the Academic Competition will be organized again next year with more challenging and varied questions," said Aura Rizka, Rio Ferliauwan and M Gigih from SMAN 1 Unggulan Muara Enim.
