Supporting Quail Farming Replication, PTBA Promotes Economic Independence for the Tanjung Enim Community

Tanjung Enim, August 14, 2025 - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting economic independence for the community through its sustainability program. This time, PTBA is supporting the ALTANI Farmers’ Group in Southern Tanjung Enim by replicating a quail farming program. This initiative is designed to create a new sustainable income source and pave the way for long-term economic independence.
Mustafa Kamal, Head of the Sustainable Economic, Social, & Environment Department at PTBA, explained that the program aims to empower communities by providing productive assets. "We believe that when communities are empowered with knowledge, tools, and proper guidance, they will be able to optimize the potential in their environment," said Mustafa. He hopes this program can inspire other regions to build self-reliance through collaboration and the utilization of local resources.
Yohanes, Chairman of the ALTANI Group, expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by PTBA, which included 2,000 quails and starter feed. According to him, this assistance is not only capital of the business but also a morale boost for his group. "With this program, we have a real opportunity to improve the well-being of group members, create new job opportunities, and optimize the use of local resources," Yohanes said.
Yohanes is also proud that PTBA cares not only about the environment, but also about the economic independence of the community. This program has benefited eight members of the ALTANI Farmers Group, bringing the total number of beneficiaries of the PTBA’s quail farming program to 34 people. He hopes that this initiative will continue to grow and serve as an example for other groups in the Tanjung Enim area.
This quail farming program is not only focused on increasing current income but is also expected to continue developing independently. Through this empowerment, PTBA hopes that the community can create a sustainable economic model, create more job opportunities, and drive the local economy. The success of this program is a tangible manifestation of the spirit of "United, Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia," in line with the theme of the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day. Through collaboration between companies and communities, we are proving that economic independence is the foundation for achieving shared prosperity and national progress.
