In PTBA, each worker has equal access and opportunities to gender equality and employment opportunities, job training to increase employees professionalism and commensurate reward system in energy industry.

In recruitment process, equal opportunities are given to all people, both men and women, regardless of ethnicity, religion, race, class, gender, or physical condition to participate in teh recruitment. Successful candidates reviewed based on the selection and evaluation results during probation and orientation periods. However, due to  most of jobs characteristics required relies on physical, most workers are men.

OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) aspect was one of success factors for mining operations. OHS implementation demonstrates the commitment to implement  safe mining operations. Since 2010 July, PTBA has integrated all operational systems related to OHS within its  Management System (BAMS). OHS Management System accredited based on Minister of Manpower Regulation No.05/men/1996 since 2007 and certified for OHSAS 18001: 2007 since 2008.
