PTBA President Director Asks to Strengthen Synergy to Face Challenges in the Coal Industry

Muara Enim, June 10, 2022 - The challenges faced by the coal mining industry in the future will be harder as the fossil energy use will increasingly be limited and we must adapt to this situation.
In the PTBA Halal Bihalal (gathering to ask forgiveness) with theme 'Strengthen Silaturahmi and Strengthen Synergy' at the PTBA Multipurpose Building, Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra on Friday, June 10, 2022, the President Director of PTBA Arsal Ismail emphasized that PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) as one of the largest coal producers in Indonesia needs to strengthen the synergy between lines within the company.
This is the first offline gathering held in the last two years since the COVID-19 pandemic. PTBA President Commissioner Agus Suhartono, PTBA Commissioner Piterdono HZ, PTBA Commissioner Andi Pahril Pawi, and the entire board of directors of PTBA attended this event.
“PTBA needs to strengthen and improve synergies as the challenges ahead will be more intense and even more challenging. We need to perform with full responsibility and synergy between lines to achieve our targets. The limiting of fossil energy and the discourse of Net Zero Emissions in 2050 will put pressure on our business prospects in the long term, "said Arsal Ismail.
Despite the many challenges, Arsal asked all the company personnel to be optimistic. "In the future, we must be more collaborative, both on the internal PTBA and with all our stakeholders so we can achieve what we have envisioned, " he said.
Arsal emphasized that PTBA's positive achievements to this point are the result of joint work and no one should feel greater compared to others. It is hoped that everybody can put aside personal ego for the common good.
"If all PTBA personnel really take in the essence of Halal Bihalal, the impact will be so great for personal selves and the corporation. In fact, PTBA achievement today is due to the hard work of all of us, the result of our teamwork, and the result of our commitment. We understand that in the workplace there may be some frictions but let not be any grudges and envy. Let’s have big hearts to forgive, however by nature we are not perfect," he concluded.
