PTBA Received an Award from the Minister of Manpower for Work Safety in Mining

Muara Enim, June 16, 2022 - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah awarded the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) to PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA). The award was received by the PTBA Board of Directors at the Tanjung Enim Mining Unit Directors Office on Thursday, June 9, 2022.
Three representatives of PTBA from Tanjung Enim Mining Unit, Tarahan Port Unit, and Kertapati Jetty Unit succeeded in obtaining the Gold Category SMK3 award. The Tarahan Port Unit also received the Zero Accident award.
This acknowledged that PTBA has properly implemented the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with Government Regulation no. 50 of 2012.
Ida Fauziyah said that the awarding was part of the government's efforts, the Ministry of Manpower in particular, to continue campaigning for OSH. "The OHS awards have proven to be effective in motivating stakeholders to implement OHS properly. In 2021, there were 1,268 companies receiving the Zero Accident award and in 2022 there were 1,742 companies, or an increase of 37.4 percent," said Ida.
The President Director of PTBA, Arsal Ismail, hopes that PTBA would maintain this achievement and the implementation of the OHS Management System at PT Bukit Asam Tbk would be continuously improved.
"OSH is one aspect that must be implemented in the company's operations. All operational activities carried out by the company always refer to the precautionary principle and emphasize the importance of employee safety and health," said Arsal.
In an effort to ensure the implementation of OSH standards and as a form of the company's commitment to the implementation of safe mining activities, since July 2010 the company has integrated all operational systems related to OHS management aspects into the Bukit Asam Management System (BAMS).
