Bukit Asam (PTBA) Achieved Occupational Safety and Receives Two Awards at Two DIfferent Events

PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA)'s strong commitment to implementing an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) culture has resulted in two awards at two different events.
At 2024 Naker Fest event organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower in Jakarta on Friday, August 23, 2024, PTBA received the 2024 OSH Award for successfully implementing OSH standards resulting in zero accidents in 2023. PTBA also received the HIV-AIDS Prevention and Control Program Award in the Workplace.
On the same day, at 2024 Indonesia Safety Excellence Award (ISEA), PTBA received four awards: Excellence in Safety Application Program, Fire Safety Management of The Year, Safety Innovation of The Year, and The Best Leadership in OSH Culture for Suhedi, Director of Operations & Production of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA).
Suhedi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the achievements, which were expected to encourage PTBA further to continue strengthening its OSH culture.
"PTBA consistently implements Good Mining Practice throughout its operational activities. With a strong OSH culture, mining may be carried out effectively and safely. Hopefully this award will encourage us to continue innovating to improve OSH culture, allowing PTBA to deliver non-stop energy for the country," said Suhedi.
PTBA has made many initiatives to improve OSH culture, including OSH Management System (SMK3), Mining Safety Management System (SMKP), ISO 45001 - 2018 as the standards and guidelines for the Company in managing mining safety.
The Golden Rules principle is upheld to ensure that occupational health and safety in the operational environment is maintained. The Golden Rules are basic guidelines that must be followed by all employees to ensure occupational health and safety. A number of SHE (Safety Health & Environment) Agents carry out very strict OSH supervision at their respective work locations.
To minimize high risks while carrying out work, the Company has issued an appeal through a Circular Letter allowing every employee and work partner to postpone or temporarily cease their job or the work of others if conditions are identified to affect safety.
PTBA also uses business processes digitalization to strengthen OSH. The Company developed CISEA (Corporate Information System & Enterprise Application), which includes Safety, SHE News, and Mine Permit functions.
Employees' physical and mental health are also maintained through a variety of programs, such as employee counseling programs, a monthly Fun Walk Challenge With Partner 62 KM, healthy exercise, Berchanda program (Dare to Check Health and Free Consultation for Employees), and medical treatment at clinics or hospitals.
Furthermore, the PTBA periodically tests the feasibility of production facilities and infrastructure and enhances it through standardization or certification. This policy is implemented to ensure the safety and security of employees while working.
