Bukit Asam (PTBA) Received the Bina Mitra UMKM Award for Consistently Empowering the Community

PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) received two awards: the Foster Company (Gold) category and the Fostered UKM and IKM Program (Gold), at the 2024 Bina Mitra UMKM Award event in Jakarta on Saturday, June 29, 2024. This award was granted to PTBA because of its contributions and support to the development of MSMEs in Indonesia.
PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Corporate Secretary Niko Chandra expressed his gratitude and stated that the award recognized PTBA's commitment and dedication in developing MSMEs. "This award serves as both source of pride for PTBA and encouragement for us to continue to strive to empower the community through developing MSMEs by expanding job opportunities and strengthen the economic structure. As members of the MIND ID Group, we always prioritize mining for community welfare," said Niko.
PTBA provides various assistance and coaching activities for MSMEs in the company's operational areas. From 1992 and 2022, PTBA provided loan funding to promote financial access. With PTBA and BRI's cooperation, borrowed funds are being transferred through BRI.
The product quality of the fostered MSMEs has improved in terms of packaging, production equipment assistance, and so on. Then, to increase market access, PTBA conducts training and collaborates with PaDi UMKM and other digital e-commerce platforms.
Product photo training, online marketing, and promotions are used to increase sales of MSME products. PTBA also frequently registered MSMEs to participate in exhibitions at both the local and international levels. The company also established the Bukit Asam Industrial Center (SIBA) and Rumah BUMN as platforms for MSMEs to market their products.
SIBA Songket, one of the PTBA-fostered MSMEs, for example, has been successful in empowering housewives in Lingga Village to produce songket crafts since 2016.
In 2023, PTBA held 42 trainings, accompanied MSMEs to 20 exhibitions and fairs, gave 3 internships and site visits, and provided 10 MSMEs with facilities and infrastructure. 240 MSMEs were effectively elevated and advanced as a result.
