Story of Faidhal Ramadhan, AKIPBA Graduate in 2021
Faidhal Ramadhan, a 2021 AKIPBA graduate, talked about his experiences while studying in the AKIPBA’s Mineral and Coal Mining Product Processing Technician study program. AKIPBA’s full scholarship provided opportunities for children from underprivileged families around the company's operational areas like himself to pursue higher education.
"The AKIPBA program provides a full scholarship. My father is a daily laborer, while my mother is a housewife," said Faidhal.
His experience suggests that AKIPBA’s curriculum is highly applicable to the mining industry.
In addition to theory, AKIPBA provides direct practical experience in the field with guidance from qualified practitioners.
In the Mineral and Coal Mining Product Processing Technician study program, for example, Faidhal learnt about various types of mining equipment, practice directly in the coal transporting process, and conduct coal testing in the lab.
After graduating from AKIPBA, Faidhal applied to 2021 PT Bukit Asam Tbk Recruitment and was accepted. He was then assigned to the coal handling and transportation unit. "The learning program at AKIPBA required us to work in the field, in the mining industry. Now that I work at the place where I used to practice, it’s like just continuing what I did," said the 24 year old man from Tanjung Enim.
He believes that AKIPBA prepares its graduates to be disciplined and have character. “While studying at AKIPBA, we lived in a dormitory and developed several habits such as the discipline of rising up early, arriving on time, and completing responsibilities on time. When good habits are developed, they are carried over to the workplace," he said.
