Bukit Asam (PTBA) Fostered Partners Obtain Copyrights for Kujur and Songket Batik Motifs
PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) assists its fostered partners in obtaining copyrights of Tanjung Enim traditional Batik Kujur and Songket Behembang Lingge for legal protection.
The copyrights obtained by PTBA's fostered partners include Batik Kujur Yuyun with Tanjung Pelangi Motif, Batik Kujur Jujur, Batik Kujur Eka with Tengkiang Padi Motif, Batik Kujur AS, and Batik Kujur Kenanga.
They also obtain copyrighs for Batik Kujur LA with Kujur Melati Motif, Batik Kujur LA with Bunga Tanjung Motif, Batik Kujur Mery with Kujur Daun Bambu Motif, Batik Kujur MW, Batik Kujur Quineemay, Batik Kujur RTY with Kujur Kopi Motif, as well as Tenun Songket Behembang Lingge with Bunga Tanjung Motif.
AVP Community Engagement & Partnership PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), Listati, said that copyrights are important for protecting the work of fostered partners and encouraging further innovation. Copyright certificates are valid for a 50 years after their creation is announced.
"Copyright certification is useful for protecting MSME actors. We also hope that fostered partners would become more inspired to continue working and innovating," said Listati.
Batik Kujur features motifs are designed to showcase Tanjung Enim's local wisdom, such as kujur, coffee, rumah tengkiang, and bunga tanjung. Kujur is a traditional spear-shaped weapon passed down through generations of the Tanjung Enim community in South Sumatra.
Songket Behembang Lingge is also unique. This songket is made of yarn dyed with natural ingredients such as turmeric, guava leaves, secang, betel nut, etc. The motifs are representative of Tanjung Enim's local wisdom, including kujur, keris, gung, and rosella.
PTBA promotes the growth of Batik Kujur and Songket Behembang Lingge by establishing Bukit Asam Industrial Centers (SIBA) Batik Kujur and SIBA Songket. Both empower housewives living around PTBA's operational area.
