PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk or PTBA concerned to be harmonic with nature in all its business activities. Workshop on "Water Pollution Control, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and Toxic Substances Waste Management" was held in PTBA Building Auditorium, Tanjung Enim on Friday (31/07). The event was an effort to increase all PTBA employees and its partners awareness of water pollution control, HAZMAT and waste management.

The workshop was attended by 200 participants who were from Tanjung Enim Mining Unit (UPTE) PTBA work units, subsidiaries, partners and contractors. The workshop provides an understanding for law fundamentals, ways to control water pollution, HAZMAT and waste management so that in can only give its smallest impact for the environment. Generally, the participants already knew the subject matter and its implementation. However the workshop purpose also as refreshment and to raise awareness as well as innovation to have better waste management.

The effort had positive appreciation from Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MOEF). It was in line with Government Regulation No. 101 year 2014 about HAZMAT and Toxic Substances Waste Management. PTBA realized that any activity conducted would produce waste. To minimize the waste impact or to control environmental pollution would reduce the social and health impacts. The workshop results will be disseminated to all employees PTBA.
