PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) showing again his commitment to develop Tanjung Enim as a Tourism Destination City in South Sumatra .This time, this commitment is proven by organizing a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in The Mess Hall Base Camp Bukit Asam, Tanjung Enim, in the middle of last October. 

General Director and Human Resources of PTBA Suryo Eko Hadianto said, FGD which took on a theme Development Tanjung Enim Become a Tourism Destination in South Sumatra is aimed to provide input for PTBA’s vision in developing Tanjung Enim become a tourist destination in South Sumatra can run smoothly and accepted by all parties.

"To make the Tanjung Enim as a tourist destination, we urge all sectors of society that cares and wants to realize Tanjung Enim as a tourist destination to start working as expected," said Eko Suryo Hadianto.

Also attending to FGD, among other things, The Regent Muara Enim Muzakir Sai Sohar, Vice Regent Muara Enim Nurul Aman, Deputy Chairman of Parliament Dwi Windarti, Legislators Muara Enim Dapil V, Head of SKPD, Muspida and NGO Forum in Subdistrict Lawang Kidul.

In the discussion forum, Muara Enim Regent Muzakir Sohar Sai said, PTBA is the one of a regional asset that contributes a sizeable foreign exchange for the country. Therefore, it should be PTBA engaged directly in the development of existing development in Muara Enim, particularly in the development plans of Tanjung Enim as a tourist destination city.

Muara Enim regency government, said Muzakir Sai Sohar, strongly supports the idea of make Tanjung Enim as a tourist destination, but it needs to be synergized with the field of tourism development plans that had been planned by the Government of Muara Enim with due regard to the condition of local communities.

"The construction of Tanjung Enim as a tourist destination must pay attention to social and cultural conditions of indigenous people around, so that people coming not only look at the coal mine, but there is another reason behind the impression of Tanjung Enim as a Coal City," said Muzakir Sai Sohar.

In initiating to develop Tanjung Enim become a tourist destination, PTBA has set up a Central Square Bukit Asam to be square in Tanjung Enim. This square will soon include an interesting variety of amusement rides as well as coal mining museum. Meanwhile, along the lip of Enim River that flows around it will be transformed into a beautiful garden.
