PT Bukit Asam Tbk's Business Transformation Steps and Strategies to Enter the Energy Sector in 2026
PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), a member of the mining BUMN holding MIND ID, prepare steps and strategies to realize the vision of becoming a world-class energy and chemical company that cares about the environment.
This transformation is to support the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target in 2060 in accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction and to increase the company's contribution in supporting national energy sustainability.
PTBA's first target is to become a company engaged in the energy business by 2026 with a revenue target of 50% from the energy sector and 50% from the coal business.
PTBA Strategy
PTBA has three specific strategies to achieve its business transformation target in 2026, namely:
1. Increasing the portfolio of New and Renewable Energy-based power plants
2. Coal downstream project and chemical industry development by setting up a special economic zone in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra as an area for business development
3. Carbon Management Program, the integration of carbon reduction targets in PTBA mining operations
