Bukit Asam (PTBA) Receives 4 Awards for High GRC Standards Implementation
PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), a member of the MIND ID Group, receives four awards at the 2023 GRC & Excellence Award. The four awards are The Greatest Champions of GRC Excellence Performance 2023, The Best GRC for IT/Digital Transformation, The Best CEO for GRC Excellence 2023 for the President Director of PT Bukit Asam Tbk Arsal Ismail, and The Best GRC Women Leader 2023 for the Director of Finance & Risk Management of PT Bukit Asam Tbk Farida Thamrin.
Farida Thamrin together with Director of Operations & Production of PT Bukit Asam Tbk Suhedi, Corporate Secretary of PT Bukit Asam Tbk Niko Chandra, and VP of Corporate Management Systems & GCG PT Bukit Asam Tbk Tri Ubaya Sakti were present to receive this award in Jakarta on Thursday August 30, 2023.
"We would like to express our gratitude for the appreciation given. PTBA is committed to continuing to strengthen the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) system and infrastructure as the foundation for accountable business entity management. PTBA also continues to improve governance year after year to achieve the Company's goals," said Farida Thamrin.
Tri Ubaya Sakti explained that one of the methods Bukit Asam implementing corporate governance is through the implementation of the 3 Lines Model and managing the Bukit Asam Management System (SMBA). "SMBA is an integrated management system that incorporates management systems used in carrying out all business processes in the Company," he said.
Most of our management system implementation has been certified by independent institutions, including the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System which was audited by PT British Standards Institution Group Indonesia (BSI Group Indonesia).
"PTBA has implemented a Whistleblowing System (WBS) or a mechanism for submitting complaints about alleged criminal acts of corruption through various media," he continued.
Furthermore, PTBA has also obtained the ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management System, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System. For risk management implementation, PTBA has guidelines that refer to ISO 31000:2018 - Risk Management Guidelines and its derivative procedures.
It is further emphasized that the Company always pays attention to aspects of compliance with applicable regulations when implementing business processes. "Risk Management has been integrated into all Company activities, both in operational activities and development projects, including making business and strategic decisions for the Company," said Tri Ubaya.
To support the implementation of GRC and SMBA, PTBA has developed Super Apps called Corporate Information System and Enterprise Application (CISEA). "Information technology in the Company's business processes has an important role in supporting accurate and fast decision making (real time)," he said.
