At that time, the Government of Sawahlunto and their local communities held an event Sawahlunto International Songket Carnival (Sisco) 2016, in Sawahlunto, West Sumatera.  And at that time too, PTBA Ombilin Mining Unit (UPO) participate by engaging the woven Silungkang trained partners from the Jembatan Merah, Sawahlunto.

Moreover, PTBA UPO also providing the messes that used to be a place SISCA committee secretariat, and also for place overnight guests of the ministry, a consul, and foreign trading partners.

The second time this event was held lively, followed not only by craftsmen and songket woven fabrics of Sawahlunto, but also from various regions in West Sumatra, such as Tanah Datar, Payakumbuh, Padang, Solok, and Sijunjung.

This fashion show not only followed by adults, but also students from kindergarten to high school. With hundreds of designs featuring fashion creations made from songket are paraded from Silo Ombilin area, Masjid Agung, Lapangan Segitiga Ombilin, and ends at The Goedang Ransoem Museum.

The event more lively with photography competition, seminars and exhibitions of songket. The committee also provides grants of up to Rp124 million for the participant with the best clothes.

Meanwhile, the exhibition of songket wich titled Pelangi Songket Nusantara also also takes a lively and successful in Gedung Pasar Songket Muaro Kalaban. Not less than 52 entrepreneurs from various regions in the country that will take part in this exhibition.
