PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. (PTBA) Ombilin Mining Unit (UPO) as one of the state owned company who have committed "present to the country" never missed an annual grand event to support the Ministry of Tourism, the Tour de Singkarak.

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya had said that the Tour de Singkarak is sport tourism or international cycling race, which became one of the events to develop tourism in West Sumatra.

This year, the Tour de Singkarak which starts at Singkarak Lake, Padang, West Sumatra, on August 6, followed by 110 participants from 12 countries. One of the areas through which the drivers are Sawahlunto, Padang, where PTBA UPO located.

As in previous years, PTBA UPO supports the full range of City Government of Sawahlunto and all people to prepare and success of the event.

PTBA UPO prepare accommodation, in addition to hotels managed by the Cooperative PTBA, also no less than 20 bungalows that is ready to be used as a homestay for the athletes and tourists who come to see the event Tour de Singkarat 2016 in Sawahlunto.

Hotel and bungalow is also selling well, filled with tourists who visit. It could be, because of the price range offered for homestay are also quite affordable, Rp200 thousand to Rp300 thousand per night.
