Jakarta, August 6, 2025 – The PORSIBA Tarahan, which is sponsored by PT Bukit Asam (PTBA), once again achieved remarkable success by winning a total of 13 medals at the Shureido International Karate Cup 2025. This prestigious championship was held in Ciracas, Jakarta, and was attended by representatives from 12 countries.
In the competition, the PORSIBA Tarahan karate team successfully secured 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals. The gold medals were won by Fandy, Raihan Ananda, Fadil, Reihana Farra, and Qeila Faiza.
This international achievement complements the team's extraordinary accomplishments throughout the year 2025. Earlier, in January, the team brought home 55 medals at the Provincial Student Championship in Lampung, followed by 33 medals at the LA Cup Lampung Championship in April.
PORSIBA Chairman Chandra Irawan and the Karate Coordinator Kiagus expressed appreciation for the athletes' spirit and dedication. They emphasized that this success was due to rigorous training, continuous development, and full support from PTBA management.
PTBA's support for karate athlete development is an integral part of the company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) program. This program aims to nurture young people with strong character, achievement, and a positive impact on the environment around the company's operational areas.
"We are very proud of the achievements of the PORSIBA Tarahan karate team. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to supporting the development of young people’s potential, particularly in the field of sports," said Niko Chandra Corporate Secretary Division Head. "We will continue this support as a concrete manifestation of our CSR strategy to build a better society."
