PTBA Provides Processing Machine to Improve the Quality of Lampung Coffee
Lampung is known as one of the provinces that produces Robusta coffee, captivated by coffee connoisseurs. Having a distinctive bitter taste, Lampung Robusta Coffee becomes one of regional economic growth support.
To encourage product quality improvement and the welfare of Lampung Robusta Coffee producers, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Tarahan Port Unit gives assistance of 30 units of roasting machines and coffee grinders.
The coffee roaster and grinder machine made by local SMEs were handed over by the Director of Human Resources of PTBA Suherman directly to the Governor of Lampung Arinal Djunaidi on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
"This assistance is our contribution to support the Lampung Berjaya Program. We hope that Lampung Robusta Coffee will be recognized more by the wider community, and will improve the welfare of Lampung coffee producers and the local community in general," said Suherman.
PTBA's efforts to improve the welfare of the community around the company's work area are in line with its Noble Purpose as a member of the MIND ID Group: to explore natural resources for civilization, prosperity and brighter future.
"PTBA is committed to growing and developing with the community and providing benefits to its surroundings," said Suherman.
On the same occasion, Governor of Lampung Arinal Djunaidi expressed his appreciation for PTBA's support in regional development. Coffee processing machine from PTBA will be managed by Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD). He hopes that it can be utilized maximally for the welfare of the people.
“We would like to send our appreciation and gratitude for the consistency of Bukit Asam's contribution to Lampung Province. The Lampung Provincial Government is a producer of 38 percent of national coffee. The assistance of this coffee processing machine will improve the people's economy through enhancing the quality of coffee powder production in Lampung Province," he said.
