PTBA in Action: Improving Community Health and Addressing Stunting

Palembang, 19 November 2025 – PT Bukit Asam Tbk once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the health of communities living in the Ring 1 area of Kertapati Port through free medical services, health check-ups, and the provision of Supplementary Feeding (PMT) for stunted toddlers.
The Acting General Manager of Kertapati Port PTBA, Linafri, stated that this initiative reflects the company’s efforts to contribute to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being. “This activity is a form of the company’s concern for public health issues, particularly the prevention of stunting. Through this program, we hope parents will gain a better understanding of the importance of fulfilling children’s nutritional needs from an early age,” said Linafri.
The Acting Subdistrict Head of Kertapati, Rifandi Putra, expressed his appreciation for the program. He noted that PTBA’s efforts align with the Mayor of Palembang’s program to achieve a Healthy Palembang. “Kertapati is one of the areas vulnerable to nutritional problems, so PTBA’s support is highly valuable,” he added.
At the same event, Head of Kertapati Public Health Center, dr. Yetty, stated that the education and PMT program supports the ongoing efforts to reduce stunting. “We are greatly helped by the educational programs and the provision of supplementary food for toddlers. We hope PTBA continues to succeed and remains present to support the community,” she said.
Through the free medical services and PMT program, PTBA aims to reach communities with limited access to healthcare while supporting stunting management for toddlers. A total of 150 participants received free medical treatment, and 50 toddlers took part in the stunting handling and PMT program.
Fikri, a resident of RT 13, expressed his gratitude for the program. “Alhamdulillah, this supplementary food really helps improve my two-year-old child’s nutrition,” he said.
Meanwhile, Saleha, a resident of RT 03, shared that she regularly participates in PTBA’s free medical services. “Alhamdulillah, ever since this free treatment program was introduced, I’ve been able to monitor my health and anticipate early signs of illness,” she explained.
PTBA hopes that this program will have a positive impact on improving community health and strengthen the synergy between the company and residents in the Ring 1 area of Kertapati Port.
