PT. Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. (PTBA) reorganized Bantuan Biaya Pendidikan Mahasiswa Sekitar Bukit Asam (BIDIKSIBA)  in 2014 after the previous year since 2010 and 2013 and has sent 28 students to study at Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), 3 college students IAIN Palembang, 1 student enrolled at the University of PGRI Palembang, 20 students enrolled at the University of Sriwijaya. And this year 17 students enrolled at the Polytechnic of Sriwijaya Palembang. 

For this year, the BIDIKSIBA program managed by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) PTBA has embraced cooperation with Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya (POLSRI), Palembang, based on Office Memorandum No. 423 / Int.16400 / KL.03 / V / 2014 about Bantuan Biaya Pendidikan Mahasiswa Sekitar Bukit Asam (BIDIKSIBA) program management team in 2014, the implementation is done in several stages.

Starting on May 14, 2014, the BIDIKSIBA 2014 program implement the socialization of students and schools in the ring 1 company covers five sub-districts in the two counties, the Lawang Kidul Sub-District, The Tanjung Agung Sub-District and Muara Enim Sub-District in Muara Enim Regency, and East Merapi Sub-District and West Merapi Sub-District in Lahat Regency. Socialization was held in Gedung Serba Guna (GSG) fourth floor, office of the Tanjung Enim PTBA and was attended by students and their teachers, also attended by the Head of Education and Culture of Muara Enim Regency, Drs. Amir Han, MSI, and Muspida elements.

For this program, the CSR PTBA impose requirements to students who are eligible for the scholarship students from poor families, which is based on the amount of monthly income parents who are under the Upah Minimum Regional (UMR) of IDR 1.92 million, or calculations do not exceed the earned income of IDR 380,000.

Upon completion socialization stage followed by a stage of registration and first stage verification BIDIKSIBA-POLSRI (administration) started May 15 to 26, 2014. From the results, as many as 202 students were enrolled and 163 students successfully passed the initial stage of selection for verification and then follow the BIDIKSIBA-POLSRI Admission Selection Exam New Student on June 9 at the high school located at Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim to involve in the participation of the POLSRI.

PTBA has set a quota of 20 people who will get a scholarship in 2014 from the test results that the selection has been made. Program Team Leader BIDIKSIBA 2014, Juliana explained, given the results of the selection test second stage verification (physical / field). "So even though they pass the SNCA-BP test but if the physical verification in the field is not in accordance with the data administration has been granted, the student will be disqualified from the BIDIKSIBA graduation program," he said.

The rules are enforced so that PTBA efforts toward the advancement of education to create a superior generation by providing college scholarships to students from poor families in the region of the ring 1 company can really be felt designation. 

Hopefully, with the continuation of the BIDIKSIBA program in 2014 it will be a very good opportunity for students from poor families to increase the dignity of the family and break the chains of poverty, and all the elements of society that help PTBA businesses with the fluency in the business enterprise will automatically affect the PTBA manifestation of the growing concern for education, especially in ring 1 company.
