The 20th Environment and Forest Week 2017 is the largest series of events featuring environmental and forest conservation program and performance from stakeholders, socialization of achievements and programs in the areas of social responsibility and sustainable development and technology exhibition Renewable energy in Indonesia.

The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry on 1 - 4 June 2017 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan with the theme "For a Green and Healthier Indonesia". In this exhibition, Bukit Asam (PTBA) collaborated with Antam, Timah, and Inalum with the theme “ Sinergy of State Owned Enterprises for Greening Indonesia”.

PTBA as one of the state-owned companies engaged in the field of energy-based coal mining by carrying the vision to become a world-class energy companies that care about the environment always keep the environment and forestry conservation in the implementation of business operations. This activity aims to socialize environmentally friendly activities in daily activities that have a positive impact on the sustainability of forest, soil, and water.

PTBA has been done in realizing its commitment as a company that cares about the environment. Revegetation through planting and maintenance activities on ex-mining land by managing Plant Breeding Center in the area of 3 ha Air Laya Mine. Revegetation has been done up to the year 2016 by covering of 2,492.52 hectares. The company's environmental responsibility is realized through various other activities such as watershed rehabilitation, urban forest, post mining, major material conservation, energy conservation, water resources conservation, air pollution reduction, non-B3 solid waste reduction, B3 waste reduction and utilization, and maintaining biodiversity.

The existence of PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk already perceived benefits by communities around the mine area, Local Government in particular and generally for Indonesian nation . The participation of PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk in Environment and Forestry Week 2017 is also a commitment of the Company in realizing green energy company with proven by Gold PROPER award for four consecutive years.
