Bukit Asam Marching Band Achieves Outstanding Success

Mataram, July 29, 2025 – A sense of immense pride enveloped the entire Bukit Asam Tbk (Bukit Asam) family after the Bukit Asam Sports and Arts Development (PORSIBA)-Bukit Asam Marching Band secured the National Runner-Up title at the 8th National Recreational Sports Festival (FORNAS) in 2025. This proud team from South Sumatra successfully brought 13 medals, comprising 3 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze, out of a total of 16 medals for grabs in the marching band category.
This prestigious event, organized by the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) National in collaboration with the Indonesian Drum Corps Association (IDCA), took place on July 26-27, 2025, at Mataram University, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This success is particularly notable because all the participants from South Sumatra Province in the marching band category were trained by PORSIBA, which is comprised of the young men and women from Muara Enim Regency (Ring 1 Company).
The Chairman of PORSIBA, Aloisius H. Rahangiar, expressed his deep pride in this achievement. "Thank you very much to everyone who has supported this event, especially the administrators, coaches, athletes, parents, and sponsors. Finally, this long journey has borne sweet fruit. Thank you all; you are the sports heroes of South Sumatran," he said. He also hopes that this achievement will further spur the growth and enthusiasm for recreational sports throughout Indonesia.
In line with Aloisius, Kahfi Al Furqon, Chairman of the Bukit Asam Marching Band, who accompanied the team, emphasized that this success is the result of collaboration and support from various parties. "This result is the fruit of a very long journey. The rigorous training conducted regularly over the past year, with millions of drops of sweat and countless hours of dedication, has forged the mental and physical resilience of the children, enabling them to compete at the national level," explained Kahfi. "This achievement is not just because of us, but because of all of us who have worked together to help and fully support the activities, especially PORSIBA PT Bukit Asam Tbk and the sponsors."
Full support from various parties, especially from Bukit Asam and the supporting sponsors, was the key to this team's success. The slogan "We Can Do It Because We Are Together" truly proved itself in this proud achievement.
FORNAS 2025, themed "Win or, Lose, Everyone's Happy," features professional judges such as Mr. Worapol Prommakam (Thailand), Akhmad Mirza, M. Kadri, and M. Faisal Nafies (Indonesia). A total of 16 medals were up for grabs across various categories, including Street Parade, Soundsport, Flag Ensemble, Battle Drumline, and Individual (Drumset, Latin Percussion, Flag, Pits Instrument, Brass, Percussion).
The presence of the Minister of Creative Economy, Mr. Teuku Riefky Harsya, and the Chairperson of KORMI South Sumatra, Mrs. Hj. Samantha Tivani, B.Bus, at the event also provided significant moral support for the participants.
The achievements of PORSIBA-Marching Band Bukit Asam are a clear testament to the company's commitment to supporting the development of local talent and potential, particularly in the fields of art and sports, while also contributing to enhancing the reputation of South Sumatra on the national stage.
