Coaltrans Asia 2026 - PTBA Highlights the Importance of Regulatory Certainty and Sustainable Coal Supply
Jakarta, September 30, 2026 — PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA), a member of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding, reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national energy security and ensuring reliable coal supply. This commitment was conveyed by PTBA’s Director of Commercial & Supply Chain, Rifqi Hari Muji, at Coaltrans Asia 2026 in Bali on Monday (September 28, 2026).
“PTBA’s strategic priority is to safeguard domestic energy security while serving as a reliable supply partner in the global commodities market. We continue to optimize our operations and supply chain to meet domestic demand while honoring our commitments to international customers,” Rifqi stated.
One of the key issues discussed at the forum was the planned implementation of a single-window coal export mechanism through DSI, starting January 1, 2027. In principle, PTBA supports the government’s policy to strengthen national energy governance and is aligning its electronic reporting with the customs system and the DSI platform.
However, Rifqi emphasized that clear technical guidelines, operational procedures, and export contract provisions are essential to ensure a smooth transition. Regulatory certainty is also crucial to maintaining delivery continuity and supporting the company’s business planning.
Amid global energy market volatility and fluctuating logistics costs, PTBA continues to strengthen operational efficiency. In the first half of 2026, the company reduced its cost of revenue by 2% through stripping ratio optimization and operational discipline.
PTBA President Director Bambang Ismawan stated that the company continues to strengthen its performance and pursue business transformation to address challenges in the energy industry.
“PTBA is committed to conducting its business sustainably by strengthening operations, upholding good corporate governance, and managing resources responsibly. We aim to ensure that the company contributes to meeting national energy needs while creating added value for Indonesia,” Bambang said.
In addition to maintaining reliable coal supply, PTBA also supports the development of new and renewable energy as part of its long-term business transformation. The company views meeting current energy needs and developing sustainable energy sources as complementary priorities that can progress in parallel.
“PTBA’s participation in Coaltrans Asia 2026 is part of our efforts to strengthen collaboration with industry stakeholders and support transparent governance, regulatory certainty, and a reliable supply chain,” Bambang concluded.
