Bali, November 19, 2025 – PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) has strengthened its position as a pioneer of sustainability in Indonesia by winning dual accolades—Gold and Silver—at the 2025 Indonesian Circular Economy Awards (ICEA).
The Gold Award was presented for PTBA’s revolutionary program, “Innovation in Processing Cutfish to Become Zero Waste.” Meanwhile, the Silver Award was earned through the initiative “Siba Rosela in the Circular Economy.”
These two innovations demonstrate the company’s dedication not only to reducing but eliminating waste through intelligent and measurable circular economy approaches.
Mustafa Kamal, Sustainable Economic, Social & Environment Department Head at PTBA, emphasized that this recognition is the result of the company’s long-term vision.
“We believe that the future of industry lies in sustainability. This award is tangible proof of our commitment to Circular Economy practices aligned with the ISO 59000 standard. The innovations by ‘Rule Athalah’ and ‘Siba Rosela’ show that sustainability is not just an obligation, but also an engine of innovation for the company,” he stated.
ICEA 2025 was officially held for the first time in Indonesia as a national platform recognizing circular economy practices based on the international ISO 59000 Series standards.
Awards were given to 20 companies for a total of 44 circular economy programs, as well as to four individual actors, during the main event at the Grand Mercure Seminyak Hotel, Bali, on Tuesday (18/11/2025).
ICEA presents awards across five levels of circular economy implementation: Macro, Meso, Micro, Nano, and Actor—covering government institutions, corporations, MSMEs, and individual change-makers.
