Creativity as the Main Asset, PTBA Trains 30 Participants to Develop Pipe Cleaner Crafts

Muara Enim, 18 November 2025 – PT Bukit Asam Tbk reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through capacity building and digital transformation. One of its initiatives is the launch of Kelas Kreasi Vol. 4, carrying the theme “From Nothing to Something.”
Weny Yuliastuti, Micro & Small Enterprise Funding Section Head at PTBA, stated that this training program is a strategic step by the company to empower the surrounding community.
Kelas Kreasi is an ongoing PTBA initiative aimed at strengthening the creative economy sector, providing craft-making skills with high market value, and opening new business opportunities for local communities.
“In this fourth edition, participants are trained to transform simple materials such as pipe cleaners into various beautiful decorative items with economic value,” she explained.
The training was led by the main instructor, Zellica Gevira, a young creator known for her expertise in pipe cleaner crafts. Zellica guided participants in making a range of creations, from flowers and decorative accents to visually appealing bouquets.
Zellica emphasized that the key to pipe cleaner crafting lies in patience, precision, and imagination. According to her, the flexible nature of pipe cleaners makes them ideal for producing visually attractive decorations.
“I also stressed the importance of finishing and packaging techniques to ensure the participants’ works have high selling value. Seeing their enthusiasm, I am confident that their creations are ready to compete in both online and offline markets,” Zellica added.
Through Kelas Kreasi Vol. 4, participants gained not only technical knowledge but also practical skills that can be directly applied to create income-generating opportunities.
Weny added that this program once again proves itself to be an effective community empowerment platform, turning simple materials into promising economic potential for the people of Muara Enim.
“At PTBA, we believe that creativity is the greatest capital. With 30 participants from three districts, Kelas Kreasi Vol. 4 demonstrates that even with minimal resources, we can produce high-value products,” Weny said.
She expressed hope that pipe cleaner crafting skills will not only become a hobby but also open doors to sustainable business opportunities. “PTBA is ready to provide support through mentoring and access to capital,” Weny concluded.
