Continuing Coastal Conservation, PTBA Plants 40,000 Mangrove Seedlings in East Lampung
East Lampung, 17 December 2025 – PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to coastal environmental conservation through a mangrove planting program involving 20,000 seedlings in collaboration with the Mutiara Hijau Forest Farmer Group (Kelompok Tani Hutan/KTH) in the Pasir Sakti area, East Lampung.
The Head of the HR, GS, Finance & CSR Department of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Tarahan Port, Hamdani B. Yusdi, explained that this activity is a continuation of the mangrove conservation program previously implemented, bringing the total number of mangrove seedlings planted to date to 40,000.
“This program aims to support mangrove conservation and replication efforts in the coastal areas of East Lampung, particularly in Pasir Sakti, which plays an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance, protecting the coastline from abrasion, and serving as a habitat for various marine biota,” Hamdani explained.
Chairman of KTH Mutiara Hijau, Samsudin, expressed his appreciation for PTBA’s support in implementing the program.
“Thank you to PTBA for its assistance in carrying out the mangrove conservation and replication program in the Pasir Sakti area. With this program, we are greatly helped in replanting mangrove seedlings in this region. We hope the mangrove area can become green again as it once was, so that it can protect and sustain the local ecosystem,” Samsudin said.
Hamdani added that the mangrove planting initiative is part of PTBA’s ongoing social and environmental responsibility. Through collaboration with local communities, PTBA hopes that this mangrove ecosystem rehabilitation effort will provide long-term benefits, both for the environment and for coastal communities that depend on the sustainability of natural resources.
“Going forward, PTBA will continue to encourage the implementation of environmental programs focused on nature conservation and community empowerment, in line with the company’s commitment to supporting sustainable development,” Hamdani concluded.
