Tanjung Enim, May 8, 2026 – PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA), a member of MIND ID, the Mining Industry Holding Company, held a Qurban Animal Slaughter Training and Sharing Session at Masjid Jami’ Bukit Asam, Tanjung Enim.

The activity, attended by mosque administrators and qurban committees from the company’s Ring 1 area, was part of the Company’s efforts to enhance the community’s understanding and technical capacity regarding the implementation of qurban worship in accordance with Islamic law.

In his remarks, PTBA Iduladha 1447 H Committee Chairman, Ihwani Maris, emphasized the importance of carrying out qurban not only as an act of worship, but also in compliance with sharia principles and animal welfare standards.

“Through this activity, we hope that mosque administrators can gain a comprehensive understanding of qurban implementation, both from fiqh and technical perspectives in the field, so that the qurban process can be carried out properly, correctly, and in accordance with sharia principles,” said Ihwani.

The event continued with presentations from two competent speakers in their respective fields. The first session was delivered by Ust. KH. Taufik Salman, S.Ag., M.E., Secretary General of MUI Muara Enim, who discussed qurban fiqh in depth, covering the legal basis, requirements, and procedures for qurban worship from an Islamic perspective.

The second session was presented by Ust. Zarkoni, who explained the technical aspects of qurban animal slaughter. During the session, participants were introduced to the standards of slaughtering equipment, sharia-compliant slaughtering procedures, and techniques that ensure the process is carried out quickly, accurately, and with minimal suffering for the animals.

As part of the practical learning session, the activity also included a live demonstration of qurban animal slaughter involving one cow, conducted by Ust. Zarkoni and witnessed by all training participants. Through this practical session, participants were able to directly observe and understand the slaughtering process in accordance with the principles previously explained.

Chair of the Ramadan Social Division, Weny Yuliastuti, who was also present at the event, stated that through this training, PTBA demonstrated its commitment to supporting community capacity building, particularly in religious and social aspects, while also ensuring that qurban worship is carried out in accordance with Islamic values.

PTBA hopes that this activity will provide tangible benefits to the community and support the implementation of qurban worship that is increasingly better, more professional, and aligned with sharia principles in the communities surrounding the Company’s operational areas.
