PORSIBA FC Finishes as Runner-Up in the South Sumatra Zone of Liga 4, An Improved Achievement Compared to Last Season

Muara Enim, 06 February 2026 – PORSIBA Bukit Asam FC, the football team fostered by PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), recorded an impressive achievement by finishing as runner-up in the 2025/2026 Liga 4 South Sumatra Zone, organized by PSSI South Sumatra. In the final match, PORSIBA conceded a narrow 1–2 defeat to Siti Fatimah FC from Palembang.
This achievement marks a significant step forward for PORSIBA FC, as the Muara Enim–based team had previously finished in third place in the last season. Securing the runner-up position in the 2026 Liga 4 South Sumatra further demonstrates a notable improvement in the team’s performance from season to season.
PORSIBA Football Management representative Neci Agus Pranteno stated that, in addition to the team’s achievement, several outstanding individual accomplishments were also recorded. One of PORSIBA’s players, Alif Ahmad Reyhan, emerged as the tournament’s Top Scorer after netting six goals throughout the competition this season. The 22-year-old player, born in Muara Enim, is a local native from the Company’s Ring 1 area.
“The success of PORSIBA FC cannot be separated from the role of head coach Wijay, a former player and living legend of Sriwijaya FC. Wijay was officially appointed as PORSIBA FC’s head coach in December 2025 until the conclusion of the Liga 4 South Sumatra competition, with a preparation and competition period of approximately two months,” he explained.
During the preparation period, Neci added, the team underwent a centralized training camp for one and a half months, including friendly matches against fellow Liga 4 teams in Bandar Lampung. Wijay’s coaching experience also proved to be a valuable asset, as he previously guided a Medan-based Liga 3 team to the Liga 3 National stage.
PORSIBA management hopes that this runner-up achievement will open the opportunity for the team to advance to the Liga 4 National level. For this season, it is expected that South Sumatra will once again receive a quota of two teams to compete at the national level, as was the case in the previous season.
At present, PORSIBA is awaiting official confirmation of the national quota, as Liga 4 competitions are still ongoing in several other provinces across Indonesia. “With its status as runner-up of the 2026 Liga 4 South Sumatra, PORSIBA PTBA is optimistic about becoming one of South Sumatra’s representatives in the upcoming Liga 4 National competition,” Neci concluded.
