PTBA CSR: Environment Preservation And Share With Community
PTBA shared its 2% net profit as CSR funds and allocated to to environmental preservation and social programs for community. For environmental program PTBA conducted green mining and Enim forest parks. Meanwhile for community social programs, many things have been done by PTBA like free medication for poor people.
For PTBA, CSR were not liability and cost, but asset and equity. CSR was not something new for PTBA. Even since the Dutch era, already established market, entertainment facilities, hospitals, worship places and other facilities that could be used by the general public.
Another program was partnership fund distributed through rigorous screening. Several partners conducted business on chicken broilers, laying eggs hens and kemplang crackers. The program provided annual low interest rate (6%) financing assistance and 36 months payback period. The partners also given trainings and educational assistance to improve their managerial capabilities and production skills.
PTBA not solely seek for profit but also ran good mining practice. PTBA realized that company can not grow and thrive alone without involving other parties who helped and gave support to the company.
