PTBA Promotes Independence of Community Groups through Leadership Development
Tanjung Enim, September 16, 2026 – PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA), a member of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding, continues to strengthen community empowerment through its Illegal Mining Transformation Program (PETI).
One of the program’s initiatives is the development of the Quail Egg Farming Community Group, which has been developed in collaboration with Agustian Kholik since 2024. The business development is complemented by human resource capacity building, including collective leadership training attended by six female members of the community group. The training aims to enhance members’ understanding and ability to practice leadership functions collectively, while encouraging them to participate in strategic thinking and decision-making within the group.
PTBA Corporate Secretary Division Head, Eko Prayitno, said capacity building is an important part of ensuring the sustainability of community empowerment programs.
“We want community empowerment to go beyond establishing a business by also building the capacity of the people who manage it. Through collective leadership, every member is encouraged to take an active role, share ideas, make decisions collectively, and take responsibility for the group’s progress. This provides an important foundation for independence and sustainable livelihoods,” said Eko.
PTBA Sustainability Supervisor, Listati, explained that the training applied an interactive experiential learning approach through four co-lead sessions, role play, reflective discussions, and the development of an action plan. Observations showed that participants became more capable of setting goals, identifying problems, considering alternatives, communicating effectively, and making decisions collectively.
“The training is part of the Company’s efforts to improve the quality of human resources within our community groups. We hope this initiative can foster a leadership mindset among members, enabling them to contribute to improved well-being. The capacities developed through this program are also expected to grow and create broader benefits for the community,” said Listati.
Meanwhile, Agustian Kholik hopes the training will encourage greater involvement from all members in developing the group’s business.
“We hope all members can actively participate, not only in operational activities but also in various aspects that support the growth of the business. We also want members to become more confident in introducing and promoting the PPSKD business so that it can reach a wider audience,” said Agustian.
