PTBA Provides Clean Drinking Water Facility for Disaster-Affected Communities in East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara

East Manggarai, September 4, 2026 – PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) is supporting emergency disaster response efforts in Lamba Leda District, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), by providing a clean drinking water facility for affected communities and patients at the Dampek Health Post.
Based on observations by PTBA healthcare professionals serving as part of the health volunteer team, and as verified by the Head of Dampek Community Health Center, Dr. Bima, the high number of patients at the health post, including both outpatients and inpatients, has increased the need for adequate access to clean water.
In response to this situation, Director of the Ksatria Airlangga Hospital Ship, Dr. Agus Haryanto, together with ITB Peduli, initiated the provision of a clean water facility for communities and patients at the Dampek Field Hospital in North Lamba Leda District. PTBA subsequently provided support through a donation to accelerate the procurement and construction of the clean drinking water facility.
“In a disaster situation, access to clean water is essential, particularly because the Dampek Field Hospital is providing healthcare services to patients, including inpatients. Clean water is needed for drinking, sanitation, hygiene, and to support healthcare services. Therefore, we are working to provide a clean water facility that can be used by patients, healthcare workers, volunteers, and surrounding communities,” said Dr. Agus.
He also expressed his appreciation for PTBA’s support in accelerating the provision of the clean drinking water facility. According to him, collaboration of this kind is particularly meaningful during emergency response efforts, as needs on the ground must be addressed quickly and appropriately.
PTBA President Director Bambang Ismawan said the assistance is part of PTBA’s commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities by helping meet basic needs and strengthening emergency response efforts in affected areas.
“Through this assistance, we hope the clean water facility will help meet the needs of communities and patients in the affected area, while also supporting hygiene and health throughout the recovery process,” said Bambang.
Through collaboration with various stakeholders, PTBA remains committed to contributing to emergency response efforts and supporting affected communities so they can recover and rebuild as quickly as possible following the disaster.
