Independence Day Spirit, PTBA Provides a Platform for Local MSMEs
Muara Enim, August 12, 2026 – To celebrate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Rumah BUMN Muara Enim is holding an Exhibition of Traditional Ornaments and MSME Products from August 6–17, 2026, at the Creative Hub, 1st Floor of the Main Building (GUBA) of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA).
The exhibition showcases a variety of creative products from local MSMEs, particularly those from communities around PTBA's operational areas. Featured products include tanjak traditional headwear, songket woven fabrics, batik, traditional scarves, cultural accessories, knitted crafts, processed food products, and tumblers. In addition to serving as a promotional platform, the event also introduces the cultural heritage and creativity of local communities to PTBA employees.
PTBA Micro & Small Enterprise Funding Section Head, Weny Yuliastuti, said the event is part of Rumah BUMN Muara Enim's efforts to expand market access while strengthening the competitiveness of local MSMEs.
“Through this event, we are providing MSMEs with an opportunity to introduce their products directly to PTBA employees. Beyond serving as a sales platform, the exhibition allows MSME entrepreneurs to receive direct consumer feedback and gain a better understanding of market needs,” said Weny.
She added that the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence provides an opportunity to showcase products that reflect local culture and wisdom. Traditional ornaments such as tanjak, songket, batik, and other cultural accessories demonstrate that cultural preservation can go hand in hand with strengthening the local economy.
PTBA Corporate Secretary Division Head, Eko Prayitno, said that MSME empowerment is part of the Company's commitment to creating sustainable benefits for communities surrounding its operational areas.
“The spirit of independence is not only expressed through celebrations, but also through tangible contributions that create opportunities for communities to grow and become self-reliant. Through Rumah BUMN, PTBA seeks to connect MSMEs with markets, enabling local products to gain greater recognition and creating opportunities for further growth,” said Eko.
The exhibition is also part of PTBA's series of activities commemorating the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence. During the August 17, 2026 Independence Day ceremony, PTBA employees will wear traditional Indonesian ornaments as part of their ceremonial attire. To support this initiative, the Traditional Ornament MSME Booth offers a range of local products, including tanjak, selendang Kujur scarves, songket, ethnic brooches, traditional headbands, and other cultural accessories.
The participation of MSMEs in this event is expected not only to expand marketing opportunities but also to encourage entrepreneurs to continuously improve product quality, design, and packaging to reach broader markets.
“PTBA hopes that promotional platforms like this can serve as a bridge to strengthen the connection between MSMEs and markets. With support from various stakeholders, we are optimistic that local MSMEs can become increasingly competitive while contributing to the growth of the regional economy,” Eko concluded.
Through Rumah BUMN Muara Enim, PTBA continues to support the development of local MSMEs and the preservation of cultural heritage as part of its efforts to strengthen community self-reliance and improve the welfare of communities surrounding its operational areas.
