PTBA Reinforces Safety Transformation, Wins Four ISEA 2026 Awards

Bali, August 26, 2026 – PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to occupational safety and health (OSH) by receiving four awards at the OSH Asia’s Summit 2026, held at Prama Sanur Beach, Bali.
At the event, PTBA secured three corporate awards: Best Digital Safety Transformation Award, Best Predictive Safety System Excellence Award, and Best Safety Culture and Human Performance Award.
In addition to the corporate awards, individual recognition was presented to Ilham Yacob as a PTBA Director of Operation and Production, who received The Best Leadership on OSH Culture award. The award recognizes his leadership role in strengthening the safety culture and ensuring the consistent implementation of OSH practices across the company.
Ilham said the awards serve as recognition of PTBA’s various safety initiatives while also encouraging the company to continuously advance its safety management practices.
“These four awards are not merely achievements, but the result of a process involving discussions, ideas, evaluations, and the courage to try new approaches. We see them as an energy to keep innovating and ensuring that everyone can work safely and return home safely,” Ilham said.
PTBA’s safety transformation is supported by various digital innovations, including SIP – SHE is Priority, Mine Permit Apps, Mobile Digital Video Recorder (MDVR), Mining ETLE, and the Safety Command Center (SCC). PTBA also utilizes virtual reality technology through VR Fire Extinguisher Training to strengthen safety learning and training.
The use of technology goes hand in hand with strengthening systems and workplace safety culture through SMK3, SMKP, Stop Work Authority, and Sweeping Golden Rules 5.0. Employee involvement is also strengthened through various platforms and teams, including SHE Agents, Investigation Teams, Emergency Response Teams, as well as safety communication and learning facilities.
SHE Tanjung Enim Mining Site Department Head, Firdaus B Fadli, who attended the awards ceremony, emphasized that the ISEA awards should not be viewed as an endpoint, but rather as recognition of PTBA’s ongoing journey and collective commitment to building a strong OSH culture.
“This achievement is instead a catalyst for us to continuously pursue improvement, strengthen our systems, enhance OSH leadership, and ensure that the safety culture becomes increasingly embedded across every level of the organization,” Irwinsyah said.
“We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to all PTBA personnel, business partners, and all parties who have contributed through their dedication, collaboration, and consistency in achieving this accomplishment. Going forward, our focus is to build a resilient, strong, and sustainable OSH culture that is capable of addressing various challenges while continuing to evolve in line with PTBA’s vision of becoming a world-class energy company,” he added.
PTBA will continue to strengthen employee competencies, predictive safety systems, and the use of technology to support safe and sustainable operations. For PTBA, safety success is ultimately reflected in the company’s ability to prevent risks and ensure that every employee can return home safely.
