Tanjung Enim, July 8, 2026 – PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), a member of MIND ID, Indonesia's State-Owned Mining Industry Holding, continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the quality of human resources in communities surrounding its operational areas through the Basic Mechanic Course for Ring 1 Tanjung Enim. Conducted in collaboration with UT School Tanjung Enim, the program successfully graduated 19 participants from Lawang Kidul and Muara Enim Districts.
Over the course of 60 days, participants underwent comprehensive training through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on field practice. The program was designed to equip them with fundamental mechanical skills while fostering job readiness, professionalism, and a strong safety culture.
PTBA’s Corporate Secretary Division Head, Eko Prayitno, stated that human capital development is one of the Company's key priorities in implementing its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs. According to him, enhancing community competencies serves as a crucial foundation for promoting economic self-reliance while meeting the industry's demand for a skilled workforce.
"The Company believes that the best investment is an investment in people. Through the Basic Mechanic Course, we aim to provide young people living around our operational areas with industry-relevant skills that will enhance their competitiveness and expand their employment opportunities. This program reflects PTBA's commitment to growing together with the community and creating sustainable value," said Eko.
Head of UT School Tanjung Enim, Edi Kurniawan, reported that the entire training program had been conducted in accordance with the established curriculum and objectives. He expressed his hope that the knowledge, skills, and practical experience gained by the participants would serve as valuable assets for entering the workforce and further developing their competencies in the mechanical field.
Meanwhile, UT Tanjung Enim Deputy Site Manager Sulaiman emphasized the importance of occupational safety as a core value that every industrial worker must uphold.
"Technical competence must always go hand in hand with concern for the safety of oneself and others. Safety is not merely a set of rules—it must become an integral part of the workplace culture in every activity," he said.
PTBA’s Sustainability Division Head, Dedy Saptaria Rosa, encouraged all graduates to continue learning and developing their capabilities even after completing the training.
"Graduating from the Basic Mechanic Course is not the end of the learning journey, but rather the beginning of continuously improving one's competencies. The industrial landscape will continue to evolve, making it essential to maintain a strong commitment to learning and adapting in order to meet future challenges," Dedy remarked.
The Closing Ceremony was marked by the presentation of graduation badges to participant representatives, symbolizing the successful completion of the training program. The event was further enlivened by live performances from the participants, showcasing the creativity, teamwork, and camaraderie they had developed throughout the program.
As a token of appreciation for their dedication and achievements, PTBA, together with UT School Tanjung Enim, also presented awards to the five outstanding participants who demonstrated exceptional performance in academic achievement, practical skills, and discipline throughout the training.
